Dolichos lablab

We love growing this vine as an ornamental on our fences at the farm. It has beautiful dark purple stems with sweet (edible!) lilac flowers. Young tender beans can be used in stir fries and other dishes, but be sure to pick them young! Older bean husks and beans can become poisonous once they begin to dry out! 

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

Transplant- Sow indoors before last frost. Cover seeds. Harden-off and transplant out after last frost. Do not allow plants to become root bound and avoid disturbing roots.  Direct seed - After last frost, sow 1/4" deep. Support with trellis or fence; can grow 8-10
